Aftermarket Alloy Wheels

I've done some searching (so you can put the pitchforks down you'll have to flame someone else ) from what I can establish the wheels on the Altea are

PCD 112
Offset ET54

Can anyone confirm the offset is correct ?? because I also saw ET51 (not that it's a huge difference )

I believe std alloys for TDI FR 7J x 17 with 225/45 R17 rubber
So using http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html I can establish (so long as the above is correct) changing to 18inch alloys 8J x 18 I need 225/40 R18 rubber to keep ABS and Speedo's happy.

Anyone disagree so far?

Secondly can anyone provide any pictures of Altea's on 18's ??? in particular aftermarket 18's. If not can anyone photoshop shop TT Cups onto an (Silver/platinum/black colour) Altea??

Oh BTW I used to drive a lowered LCR so ride quality on an FR TDi with 18's won't be an issue

I use the wheel configurator on here and normally it is pretty good at describing the technical requirements and tyre sizes, however this time for the 18" rim it shows a suitable off-set being from anywhere between 35 to 48 mm which I find hard to believe. Better wait for another more accurate reply but still it gives a nice representation of a wheel and tyre combo on your type of car.

Seat website has two different 18" alloys for the Altea (both 7.5Jx18), one has 51mm offset, the other 54mm. I think generally that 54mm is more common. They come with 225/40 R18 tyres.

With regard to photos, Klawit might be able to help you as there are plenty of folks on the German site with 18" or bigger on their Alteas. The link to the Altea forum is here:

I know there is a gallery somewhere because I've looked through it before but I'm struggling to find it at the moment (my 'O' level German fails me now). Hopefully Klawit will come along and sort it.

i have 18" fitted to my fr tdi,and they are 5x112+et54.i had these wheels fitted to a previous leon cupra tdi but they needed 5mm spacers to clear the calipers on the leon.i will get some pic's and try to upload them

How did you have the same wheels fitted to both the Altea and the Leon (Mk1) when the PCDs are different? Do you mean the same style of wheel?

Nice wideangle picture there Sportbilly must be equivalent to a 24mm in 35mm terms. What's the ride like on those.

Interesting just emailed a wheel / tyre supplier about a set of RS4 replica's and got the folliwng response;-

"Hello Original equipment the 17" wheel is et54 but as after market 18" is best with et40-35 we can offer 18" rs4 with;-

18" with Goodyear F1 £675.00
18" with Toyo T1s £645.00
18" with Toyo T1r £670.00"

I'm sceptical about that offset but it maybe right??

Yes you copy them into Photobucket or some other similar site, as the guy did, then you cut and paste the web link out into this board. But hit "Go advanced" as I recall, then hit the mountain and sun or mountain and moon icon. This gives you a pop up window, get rid of the http.... and paste in the Photobucket link, then you got your pictures. Other sites like IMG.... but. Clear as a bell it does work.

i wouldn't go with et40,myrims sit really well on the car totally filling the arches but not rubbing.when we went to nevis region the boot was full, the kids in the back and not contact

Sort off - looking at the pictures, you wouldn't think there would be room for two sets of holes
