Am also interested in this thread!! Mostly so I can add bluetooth as I dont have it currently and although parrot can be got for 100 ish, the hidden version is most than 300 notes so this would be a perfect solution once nav issue can be confirmed as fixable

A few quick questions as I haven't seen them being answered

1) Can you utilise the phone button on steering wheel and do you get phone book access and caller ID showing.
2) Do you have options for high pass filter for the internal amp?

Thanks

Ok guys I've had a little play today to try to tune my radio in and all i get is crackle so cupra r matt can i ask how yours is wired in as i ve gone from original antenna to fm am black plus and straight in radio but everytime i push it back into the slot it gets terrible and can only slightly hear it also where is what i guess is the ground cable blue and black with a little clip on the end go thanks rory

Black and blue cable goes into the back of the loom, can't remember if its on the bridging loom supplied but if you trace it properly with the original loom you'll see which slot it needs to be pushed into (it clips into the connector/socket on a spare slot) the classic aerial style connector goes into the back of the stereo the. You only utilise one of the wires of the two with the (the black and the white one), can't remember which but I seem to think its reasonably obvious!, if you want to post a piccie of the wee silver box up I'll have a better idea which one (jog my memory) tbh I thought the radio reception was a bit naff anyway but the only way you'll ever really cure that is to get a DAB unit!!

Sorry was ment to say i sorted it yesterday the blue black went to orange cable in loom labeled amp c worked perfect now thanks anyway i think i would have got it off that, this is my 1st double din and i think its bloody fantastic for 300, it is a bit dangerous that you can watch dvds while driving though but good for passengers

When i wired my antenna in (black and blue wire I'm talking here btw) I found a corresponding black and blue wire that came off the original loom iirc and I seem to recall pushing the wire and clip into a spare slot onto the bridging loom so that it mated up to the black/blue wire in the factory wire!?!?

That's how I did it any way!

tempted by this myself now, but only a bit dubious as to the quality? does it feel plasticy or not solid etc? whats the touch screen like? sensitive?

From what i read there, i take it all the leads come with, so i just need just need headunit and MFD facia from seat?

I think its good quality better than standard radio. Touch is good not as quick as say an iphone but for 300 notes you just can't complain i think im going to buy the tv receiver as well. That's all you need im just waiting on my fascia and will take a few piccys

How much is the TV reciever? and have you seen the price of the unit has gone up?

I think these are being purchased from alibaba website as I am sure I have seen the same unit, cost inc shipping are around £235 but then there might be import tax on top.
Might have a punt and get from there when the car comes

£75. Really how much is it now i think if under 400 still s good deal

Anyone know what the capacitor that's loose in the bits box is for?/where it goes!??

I've just got a very slight wine of interference on my unit, nothing much but it's 'there' in the background, I assume the capacitor is used for this issue as some kind of suppressor!?!?!?

Ordered one of these today and got the fasica on order too. Hopefully both arrive on Tuesday!

What size of spire nuts and self tapping screws are required?

i am going to see the guy ebay seller today for a demo of the unit so if you have any questions let me know

Anyone discovered how to get your Ipod to remember where it was (last track played) instead of it resetting every time you go back to the car!???

never had a problem with this with the old o.e headunit, but with this one when i have my Ipod or Iphone connected it never remembers where it was (half way through a song or even what song!), it will always reset/go to another track which tbh can become annoying!

Im not sure on this sorry, but ill add another thing that is a bit annoying is it doesn't display the song your on when connected through Bluetooth

Anyone know if there are any 2012 map updates available for the igo software yet!???

Just done 1200miles in the last week on holiday in cornwall and largely speaking the nav prog i have (which admittedly is a triple tweaked version of what the unit came with!) did pretty well, Ok there were little annoyances i noticed with this Nav app that are still bugging me, but it pretty much got me to where i wanted to go every time, but with the maps i have (Q4 2011 jobs) it IS only a matter of time until i come across a new road layout that it won't know!

I will say this though - make DOUBELY sure that you have the right options checked/uncheked on the setup/guidance menus or (like me) you'll find yourself being directed toward toll roads like the M6 (big no-no o mine!)

Got it fitted with the dvb tuner and reversing camera, had to chop the back off the stereo tray so all the wires could fit.
The reversing camera fits in the number plate light but threw up a fault on my dash, I didn't have a capacitor included but guess this is what it is for.
The radio reception is a tad poor but will recheck the power to this little silver box just in case it is not powering the aerial. when channels are saved it shows the freq instead of the name although when you are on a station the display does show the station name.
TV reception is good but as it is through the auxiliary you can't touch the buttons on screen instead you have to use the arrows which show on screen to navigate but it's not too bad.
Bluetooth is very basic no phonebook or caller ID and no track listing or playlist when streaming music.
I will be playing when I get some time to replace igo for tomtom but out of the box (I mounted the gps antenna to the A pillar) the gps fix is really quick.

There is a usb lead with a round connector on the end with 4 pins in it does anyone know what it does?
I also inquired with the seller and it will not link to an iphone like it does with an ipod to play music which is a big let down.

That's it really
