looking to upgrade my HU from the alana one that comes standard in my FR

was looking at alpine or pioneer as have had great experience with them previously

however, really want to keep the steering wheel controls - have heard you can get a connector that allows this...

i also really want to keep the aux output near the handbrake, however if the New HU has an aux output i guess that wont matter

any way does this HU look like a good deal?

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pioneer-dehp7000ub-p-6444.html

it has bluetooth, ipod connector and i think it has steering control adaptor....does anyone reccomend any car audio shops that can do fitting etc...?

when you say automatically pick it up - what do you mean?

also is it possible to get steering wheel controls...if so may look at getting a specialist to fit it

No will pick up the auxilary audio input (for mp3 player etc) if your car has it.

I'm exactly the same position, just got my car (07 FR 130 TDI) and I was thinking of getting this pioneer HU, cos the bluetooth capability is already built in, rather than having to buy a bluetooth adaptor - pioneer-dehp700bt

I believe you can run AUX and IPOD wired in the back of this, but I can't find any information if this will link up to the steering wheel controls. There is steering wheel controls interface on this site - a connects2 one..... then there is a CAN BUS interface.

Will I need all these bits and will they work? Anyone got this already? Sorry I can't put links on yet, I'm only new to the site

If you're anywhere near west wickham, that's where i got mine installed, place called ultimate audio, they did a good job with mine

thats is a well nice HU, im looking at spending around £200 on my HU, but was hoping to find somewhere in bucks/herts/beds to fit it with steeering controls and with the aux port still usable...

anyone recomend anywhere?

all you will need is the adaptor for the steering controls and the interface lead...and make sure it's not CAN-BUS. the hu should be pretty simple to fit, you may need to swap live and ignition wires for the memory settings not to be wiped every time you turn off the car

you can ckeck out my hu by clicking the link in my siggie ;)

looking for somewhere near me that can install HU, steering control and also a sub/amp combo....used to do it all when i had my little 106 and clio but little less confident now i have a modern car...im sure the hu will be no worries but want a pro to install the sub and amp,

anyone know of anywhere around north west london/ bucks/herts/beds...willing to travel!

i bought the parts (although he can do it for you) and they installed everything and connected it up. They'll let you know if you need anything that you haven't already mentioned. this is how it looks:

he don't have a website (don't think so anyway) but if you google CAR AUDIO & PERFORMANCE CENTRE his shop will come up. If you call him up to get a quote, ask for Mo and say that Nick referred you about an install.

erm...the box was around £180 i think and connecting everything up was an extra £50. they're pretty good for prices and they do a tidy job. they have some enclosed subs and amps in their shop, pop round and have a look at em

all depends on what sub you're going for as the box will be designed to the manufacturers specs

ok done a bit of research. found somehere quite local

i like this head unit, as really like pioneer, looks like a good price

but they said the steering wheel control can-bus will be approx £70, does this sound right?

i have my own sub, but may need a new amp to go with it,

fitting with my own components is 45 quid, but with stuff purchased from them its 35 quid which sounds reasonale, they quoted between 2-3 hours for fitting so between 100-150 quid for fitting...

does this sounds reasonable?
