aftermarket limiter

Has anyone fitted an aftermarket limiter to a mk3 ibiza. I want to fit one but unsure it would be worth it. I want to restrict to 5.5k as very little boost after this. Hit me with your thoughts!!!! Oh also hoping for a few pops and bangs when on limit.........If its a goer which type and manufactuer is the best.

tell me if i'm wrong, but would you not be restricting your power........ i mean if you had a bigger turbo than standard it would drop off later than 5.5rpm wouldn't it?

There is verylittle power over 5500k mine is off boost way before then so all your doing is reving the **** out of the engine i thought the idea is to stay on the boost , childish it may sound i love the pop and crackle you get when hitting the limiter.

Dont see much point of it - as said previous just change at 5500 and that way you will go quicker instead of revving to 6505/6800

There may be little power after 5.5k but there is power there (log your airflow) also there is still speed in the form of revs, its easy to think your wasting your time after 5.5k because of the boost drop off but i bet you'd set quicker quater mile times if you shifted nearer 6.5k than if you did at 5.5k.

surely the revs will be lower in the next gear and tkae longer to build if u you change earlier?

A lot of the Jap import guys use the Bee R rev limiter -- You can adjust the limit and the gain (frequency of cut) so you can have it banging like a machine gun or just occasionally.

Yeah looked at that limiter but it seems to overfuel and produce flames!!! not really a good idea with a cat. Do you think it would fit the beeza!!

have seen one fitted before to a vag 20vt but a quick call will settle any Q's

i'm biased as they are currently rebuilding a custom sequential light for me after i melted it

and i supply parts to em too if it is any good let me know might be able to get a deal for ya ?
