Age old question but K03 - 053 or ?

Xmas has come early in my house.

Open up my large box from the nice man breaking his MK4 golf with an AUM engine code.

Get the turbo out the box and the plate says k03 - 53.

Have read at least 25 threads on this and still cant see what it is.

Cant count the blades as there is a pipe on it still and carrying an oily turbo round the house at this hour trying to find a alan key wont go down so well.

Before I have a sleepless night thinking Ive been tucked up can anyone says whether this is a K03s or a K03?

this should help the aum lump had a k03s before the auq lump got it

Get the shaft pull it in and out in the direction that the air would travel in, then wobble it up down left right - shouldn't really have ANY play (as mine didn't after 85k miles) but you may get away with maybe 1/2mm if someone could confirm that for me....?

My old K03 had 1mm of forwards-backwards play after 65k, virtually no side-to-side and was fine.

Ideally nothing though

the Ko3 has 6 sets of 2 Amounting to 12 in total

if its 8 youve got a k03s

yess i have a k03s lol i bought the engine the add said k03s turbo we looked at the tag said k03 was fuming messaged him right bit of abuse and he sent me £50 back of what i paid checked the turbo now has 8 blades haha k03s 52k on engine and turbo and £50 cash back woop woop

bargain, Borg Warner never Officially produced a Ko3s turbo, its purely just an updated Version of the K03.. The Ko3s tag was purely a name given to it by tuners etc...
