did you move the passenger seat while you were driving or ignition on? because i did and it made my light come on... just triggered the sensor.. nothing major all needs doing is light needs mapping out/ warning signal cleared

i just changed this sensor in my 2000 seat leon but the light is still on, does it have to be plugged back into a computer to clear the codes?

Cant comment if it will work or not
But I brought a Vag one off ebay,my car had work done and ecu wasnt cleared
I plugged the Obd reader in and cleared the codes,a month on and none have come back up

Id recommend buying one, good for the money..simple to use for a novice like me

im gonna bring it to the mechanic to clear the codes and hopefully that will be it

Yes VAG COM should clear the fault codes if the crash sensor is the correct one.Bear in mind there are sensors with the same part number 6Q0 909 606 but have a different unique number for example 00A at the end of the part number which is matched to the specific number of the controller fitted in your leon. VAG COM will tell you what that number is.

:shrug:can any 1 help with my fault plugged vag com into mine and it came up with drivers side crash sensor, just wondering if i could buy any from another lcr breaker or what are these codes etc... heres the vag reader report

01221 - Crash Sensor Side Airbag; Driver Side (G179)
30-00 - Open or Short to Plus

G179 is drivers side on RH Drive cars.

In my case and which is a common the fault the sensor is affected by water coming in through the metal panel on the inside behind door card and then soaking in to the carpet.
I actually swapped the sensor to the passenger side and this showed the fault code on passenger side so i believe they are the same on both sides. The only thing to be aware of is that there are several different types available which are uniquely coded in pairs to your particular car. Vag com will highlight which applies to your car. Hope this helps.

Pulled passenger side carpet up, carpet was dry, but underlay is soaking wet ! No wonder the sensor has failed. Dried sensor out but still failed, so managed to get two seat leon sensors, airbag control module, seat belts etc.. (airbag kit) for £60 off the bay ! All working apparently :).. should arrive Tuesday, fingers crossed :)

My advice would be to remove both front door cards and then remove the internal metal door panels while you are at it.The seal is known to fail and then let water inside the car at the door cills.I scraped the old seal off and then used sealant and fitted panel back together.Doing this stopped the water ingress immediately. If the leak is not repaired you will be getting further faults show in the future.

That's good news hope you can sort out the water leak now. There is a thread about resealing the door panels and is suggested you can use a butyl tape in the joint.I just used a tube of hi performance silicone and it stopped it in my case. Some also suggest it comes in through pollen filter.Has that been changed and not put back correctly?
