Hi,

Dont know if anyone will be able to help or if its gonn be a dealer visit...but bsically my airbag warning light just randomly came on after I'd cleaned my car. Had someone who knows someone with vag-com diagnose it as the

"passenger side, side airbag crash sensor"

He couldn't get vagcom to reset it, however this may of been becoz Seat leon wasn't an option as a car he could use on his vagcom so had to pretend it was a golf? Ive never used vagcom n dont really know that much about it, but i shouldn't think it would of made much of a difference unless the golf and leon have different versions software??

soooo.....anyone know whether there is diff versions of vagcom and seat one mite be able to clear the light?

and/ or also if there is anything i can do to check/fix the fault ?

Any help much appreciated

:D

Could be a loose connection under the passanger seat!

Had this on my 306 and my dad has it on his Leon.

Best thing to do is just stick your arm under the seat and wiggle the wires, technical I know! Could be a slighlty more complex problem though.

yeh i mite give that a go ....ive heard that sometimes the connectors have problems from the moving of the seats.

When u had this ,did the light go off after a good wiggle? or did u still have to get it reset?

On my 306 I tried the 'wiggle fix' worked for a little while. Also asked the garage to fix it - which they did but only temporarily. Then gave up!!

Going back a fair few years to one of my original threads on here however to update I have just fixed the problem. Lived with it for a few years then change in MOT legislation and my cupra being SORN meant I didn't do anything with it. However now fixing it up again, and decided to tackle the problem.

It turned out to be the side impact crash sensor which is under the carpet in passenger footwell. Got one from a scrap yard for £20 fitted it, cleared the code with a code reader and hey presto no warning light!

Just for info if anyone suffers sane fault the replacement sensor has to have the same part number / come from same engine code etc in order to work - tried two others which didn't work first.
