alex's red leon fr tdi with porka brake upgrade

well things have come along quite well since my last update
cupra r bumper fitted up soon to have the bottem middle part carbon wrapped

custom exhaust has been made and fitted with ani golf tail pipe to be a little different but still oem look

have to say this has made the car drive so much better its my best mod so far and to top it off inside the car you can hear no extra noise at all but from outside it has nice little raspy note too it under load

now apart from having the car chipped the only other thing i wanted was some bigger brakes ie set of cupra r brembos would of done nicely.
now after abit of net searching i came across this small set up.
now when i say small that should really be stupidly big

these bad boys are porka 993 turbo front calipers with 323mm discs and braided hoses

now the second pic shows them fitted up they arent currently bolted as due to the size i need to run a slight spacer

so now the car just needs a remap and good bit of cleaning/detailing
gave my borthers passat some buffing the other day with him

this is his daily and its daily ride hight

let me know your thoughts on my upgrades

so brakes all bedded in now and stops on a penny and gives 5p change so well chuffed
have fitted 15mm spacers on the rear to give it abit of poke as i'm running 10mms on the front due to the brakes cars seems to look alot more squated now and has helpped it through courners too so real pleased.

i was just starting to think i'm real happy with the car although not chipped yet had thought i'd not been spending too much more money on it for abit as their was nothing else i wanted to do i now have a poorly clutch more expense

can anyone point me in the right direction to what i should get??

Oh and also, did you make that sub-box yourself or buy it from somewhere? I could seriously do with some more boot space!

wheels are 18's and 8 inch wide twist reps so their vw stud pattern.
as for the sub box its made by Auto Acoustics although i brought from someone on here when they still had a forsale section

car hasn't done much since my last update although i do have a expensive cardboard box with my new clutch in it thanks to awersome gti which is being fitted along with a service

hi drka yer the brembo are one of my fav mods as well as the wheels in which i,d decided thats what i wanted to fit before i even had the car.
like yours alot loving the merc wheels plus leons look the best in red lol

brakes are cupra r discs 323mm and porka 993 turbo calipers but you'll also need caliper adaptors which can be brought from well know auction site. you may also need a wheel spacer the size will depend on the wheel you run

so cars back from having clutch fitted and service which is all good had lost abit of love for her when the clutch started giving me grief.
now i would start with few more tweaks here and their but after my bill which i'm glad i was prepared for im going to have to wait couple of months to get some cash i'm also way behind on the bug i'm doing to sell which i've now taken deposit which is good news just means got to work hard to get that done for the end of next month.

will try and get couple of pics of that in progress on here if anyones interested??

so thought new year so better add to my build as i've been pretty slack in updateing this

so here goes
the bug i building to sell was finished and sold as i being used daily by the new owner who loves it

seat has had couple of changes too wasn't liking the wheels in silver as i didn't think they stood out enough so i have done them a dark silver colour. once i'd done this it made the brakes look rough so they have been off front and rear and have been fully rebuilt and paint with new decals also

i have also found out that i'm going to be a dad come april which i can't wait although this does mean the mods to the leon will slow right down except for cleaning
but i have had one last little spend on the car before the baby arrives and bought a full leather recaro seats from a v5 golf which are also heated.

other than that i've not done much to the car excpet enjoy it lots
my bug has also had couple of updates also it's now fitted with cut slicks on the rear to help bring my quarter mile times down hopefully as not been able to test it yet and is also being featured in one of the uk vw mags in next month or two which has made it all worth while

Been looking at the last pic and was thinking your car looked weird. It's missing the b puller trims. Looks much better with it on IMO

turboboy i did also think it looked odd with them missing when i first got the car. they had been removed by the old owner but i now prefere it with them missing.

Can't beat porka's on a Leon but then I'm biased lol.
