Hi i have just checked out the allard AMC Super Tuning Chip, it says that with originall power/torque @ 130/228 and u then fit the chip (part number AMC225) it bumps it up to a gobsmackin.. 225/335 for a total £425?????

There has to be a catch????

No, thats not it... you cant just put a chip on a PD130 and get 225bhp!

They are saying with alot of work aka 2k+ you can see 225bhp, or if you have a bank manager that really loves you a 5k+ super installeness that will see it up to 260bhp :D

That wont just be a chip.... it will be everything :D

taken directly from their website, the text directly below the prices states:

"All the above programmes are designed to be installed after fitting or when installing other special tuning options, such as a free flow exhaust, uprated intercooler system, free flow air induction etc."

they are quoting what is possible to be gained - as others have said :p

isn't he soon to be on Turbo #3 though?

yeah thats the only thing that worries me. Although AMD never had any problems with their Hybrids and DEVon Mikey never had a problem with his allard conversion ( which is the one Spaniels bought)

If anyone wants any advice on Tdi tuning or allards you can't go far wrong talking to Mike, he really knows his stuff.

The AMD's were refurbed '2nd hand' units though? ie -on exchange

are they the same as used by allards?

Not sure, but i think spaniels problem may have been as he bought a turbo off a written off car so that wa sthe reason for the first going Maybe?

But the second one, well not sure, i wonder if he ran it in properly. Not sure can't comment as i do not know his driving styles.

Correct Spaniels first turbo was taken from Devons Cupra and as such was never given a guarantee by Allards. The second turbo did blow and is currently with TurboActive for investigation. Apparently, this is the first instance of turbo failiure Allard have experienced with TurboActive.
