..or is this the first signs of the infamous coil packs going?

On a couple of occasions now, the engine (particularly when pulling away) has spluttered a bit, almost to the point where it feels like it's about to cut out as if you've stalled it.

On the few occasions it's happened I've just carried on without further incident.

Run on Super (occasional standard unleaded when Super cannot be found), but other than that, just Mr Average.

Stick a post up in the VAG-COM forum 'help requests' section and see if anybody near you has it and can test for fault codes.

Correct, I still laugh childishly at "vag-com" though. Sounds like a dodgy website.
