A let a friend of mine drive my car this evening. Now i thought i could drive my car well but bloody hell! He really showed me how far the car can be pushed. I was very suprised how well the little thing handled. Mines only dropped 40mm on spax springs with standard shocks.

Theres some nice but tricky country roads near where i live and at night, you can use pretty much all of the road. Awsome for seeing how far you can push the car.

I let my ex boyfriend drive my car to the limits or as close as.. As I knew that if someone went wrong then he had more chance of correcting it then most other drivers, due to all the advanced driving he has done I didn't mind.

They need to be ragged sometimes :) and It really is great fun..

!

Cool.....we will have to get all your qoutes together to mark them on your headstones lol

i dont find the handling on them amazing to be honest.
I got my GTI in february, and il be honest - ive never driven past 4k revs.

no need to.

the joys of driving fast. i love canning mine past the 6 k rev mark she loves it.But my mates pug 205 gti handells alot better . Will fitting springs stop some of the roll you get with the ibiza.

Sounds cool, my friend wants to take mine for a spin but i've seen how he drives and there's no chance of that. lol

^^
4k+ revs and i feel my engine is hurting itself so i dont really go above that either

I got my GTI in february, and il be honest - ive never driven past 4k revs.

no need to.

My engine mis-fires when i hit 5k

Shame on you guys, there is no point in having a GTI and not enjoying it now and again  seems pretty pointless to pay the extra money for fuel, tax, insurance and
then drive it like its a 1.4

I drive mine very sensibly when commuting (38mpg kinda sensibly) and then when the time is right (Sunday morning) and the car is up to temperature I try to use the car to its full potential (with quite big safety margins mind you as I've been in a bad smash before and haven't been same since :headhurt:)

But as for letting your mate ragg it, I recon that's quite silly. Some of my mates cars beat me on country roads in their 1.6 Paxo's. but not because their cars are better, but because they are sketchy as fook

Does make me laugh when they spend £3.5k on a VTS and then run out of grip and talent one week later to crash and cause couple thousands damage.

The person who i let drive the car is quite expierenced at driving. He raced 4x4 from a young age and has some track experience. I wouldnt just give it to some chav with a 1.0 corsa!

Remember, most cars are written off on country roads. The amount of idiots around here you don't expect...

You go round a country bend too quick and there's;
1) walkers/joggers where there's no pavement
2) those ***** cyclists who ride 3-abreast
3) horses
4) broken down cars
5) deer / fox

Big roundabouts when no cars are around are best to test the limits out. When my 1.4 was on springs and had 17"s ...5h1t to a quilt! My standard Cupra just gets nicely tail happy :funk:

i do the odd track day and its helped me learn how far to push my car, im always above 4k in the power and the noise from the ABF :) , ive also beaten cars that on paper beat me because they are owned by cocks with rich mom and dads and they cant drive them at all they simply rely on straight line speed..

plus i got crap tyres and they squeal really easy so it sounds more impressive lol

why have a GTI? because i can.
1.4 at 20 - no thanks.

When i want to get done for speeding, i'll make sure to rev my car to the limiter.
thanks for the good advice.

I have to say, I agree that my ibiza is a good handling car, only ever driven 1 205 which was a 1.6gti, wasn't really impressed and fell in love with my cupra 1st time I drove it.
