why have a GTI? because i can.
1.4 at 20 - no thanks.

When i want to get done for speeding, i'll make sure to rev my car to the limiter.
thanks for the good advice.

I thought you were joking not taking your car past 4k revs, still, it's your car and your choice. You seem a little paranoid taking your car above the speed limit where conditions permit it safe to do so, big brother isn't that tight on us just yet :D

my mates let me drive there motors, because they know i can drive! bearing in mind, my circle of friends cars is a 1.3 fiesta, a Clio Williams 2, an a 2.8 BMW 3 series! but i dont give there cars as much stick as a i do my own! but i dont pass my car about! only to my dad (who drives an M3) and my mate with the 2.8 BMW. i'd say it doesn't matter if you swap cars and that, but i personally wouldn't go thrashing the hell out of someone else's car!

Big roundabouts when no cars are around are best to test the limits out.

Completely agree, a few decent A roads with some nice big roundabouts at 1am are where i have my fun these days, can see if things are coming and theres a lot of space to recover if things do go wrong.

Used to go down country roads like the clappers when i had my first couple of cars and have learnt from my mistakes, was going down a country road within the speed limit but too fast for the approaching corner, went round and there was a cyclist in the middle of the road and i narrowly missed him causing the car to fish tail wildly. Recovered from it but i ended up apologizing to the guy on the bike and having shaken nerves for a few days.

As for revving the car, well i would have bought another 2.0 8v if i didn't intend to use all the revs, but i don't go hammering it around daily. Only on the odd occasion when its fully warmed up and the conditions are right :D

There are some awsome sets of roundabouts in doncaster with nice big run off area's for when it gets messy. Nice for getting the back tyres warm. A friend of mine took me out in his 306 GTi-6 last night, really showed me how far you can push it!
