And who says you can't get good mpg in a mk2 what do you get

change fuel filter, spark plugs, dizzy cap, and air filter and it should be running very efficiently.

i think thats just been reset. i got 83mpg once (for about 3 seconds)

boot it for the first 5 minutes after starting the car and i get 4.1mpg :)

i was hitting 50 at one point after resetting for about 3 miles. downhill though.

haha i just reset it, can get it to say 70s no problem that way, driving gently i see 42 but its all a big lie as i struggle to get more than 50miles to £10 at 112.9p per litre, also it stinks of petrol when started from cold :( think a code was there a while ago for the lambda so thats next on the list, along with timing belt, and annoying wheelbearing noise that i just cant find lol
