annoying and stubborn transponder

How the f**k do you get the transponder out of your spare key (non remote) without breaking it?

it looks very fragile and seems to be almost fused to the case!

any tips would be much appreciated before I smash it off the wall!

I used a very small, flat bladed screwdriver. Like the type you use to adjust glasses.

Then carefully use it to score along the side of the glue, waring away a little at a time until it was able to be removed.

Thanks for that, oh well i'll keep scoring away at the glue, i'll go through the roof if after all that time I end up breaking the transponder!

magic......... carefully scoring away for what seems like forever and hear that lovely sound of CRACK!

cheekily thought i'd be ok putting it back together but low and behold spare key no longer starts the car.

So i'm down to one key and when my flip key arrives i'm going to have to get the dealer's to code it as i don't have a laptop or VAGcom... gutted to say the least
