Annoying problem

Hi all, the unlock button on my key fob has stopped working (lock still works), so i have to unlock the car manually, which is fine. The problem is if I don't put the key in the ignition within about 10 seconds the alarm goes off, which is getting a bit embarassing. Is this normal?

Yeah, Thats quite normal!! I had to use the spare recently (no fob, just a key) and it's an art form you have to practice, lol

tried a new battery?
its not uncommon for the unlock feature to stop working before locking as this gives you warning but maintains security
