Hi there guys, was just interested to know what kind of mileage people are doing on there tdi's annually and if my annual mileage is abnormally high. i bought a brand new ibiza fr tdi in march last year. i have an 80 mile commute daily and like going out for a wee run now and again. And i covered just over 24000 in the first year. Just wondering what kind of mileage others are doing and also how to avoid loss of power on high mileage as i love my wee car and plan on keeping it for a few years. I also remapped it back in early february.
Main reason for the thread is to see what mileage other drv owners are doing and how they maintain there cars to the optimum cheers.

i used to do the average of about 12k per year.

High mileage will suit a diesel better, presuming you drive it properly and dont granny it, theres links in the TDI FAQ about this in this forum.

Loss of power due to high mileage isnt something ive really heard about, just usual wear and tear, its not going to be till over 250k when your going to be thinking about engine wear dropping power off.

I bought my car Leon (55plate) about year ago. It was on 10700m when I bought it and I am now on 34k. So, I am doing about 2k a month which is about the same as you are. Most of my driving is done on 150 to 350m round trips so it's mostly motorway stuff.

some may say lala land....
generally about 20-25, mainly a 50mile round commute and the odd trip to family south and north thrown in
was on 28 in aug 06 and on 84 in may 09
still feels as good as first test drive

Bought the car July last year at ~24k. Now it's at 53700.
108 miles round commute to work, driving around at the weekends, trip to Poland so it'll be around 32k annual mileage
Timing belt to be replaced this week, flywhell on its way already ;(
Not sure if the car will last another year with me ........

I have been averaging 15 - 20k a year and my baby is a whole five and a bit years old now!

My engine feels nicely loosened up now especially after a map she still delivers grin factor in spades.
