But this time a bit different.....

I want to uprate my front anti roll bar but I also need one thats uprated to clear the drive shafts when lowered.

I seem to remember one went under the shafts instead of over it and there was also a few with bigger hoops but I don't know which ones they are?

Also [this may be dumb question] does the LC have a rear ARB as standard? and if not do I need one if I'm uprating the front?

Any help appriciated :)

No rear ARB as standard. Yes you should upgrade rear and front at the same time, preferable the rear should be a couple of mm bigger than the front (I run 23mm / 25mm).
The LCR front anti-roll bar clears the drive shafts as is links to the struts not the wishbones; have your coilies got mounting points from the droplinks?? If they do you can have the bar I took off my LCR + new clamps and bushes for a pint; you will need droplinks for it though.

Nah mine are different mate but thanks for the offer :)

Looking on the DPM site most rears are the same diameter as the fronts....some even have 26mm front and 22mm rear.... does the rear have to be thicker?

I did find these tho

http://www.dpmperformance.co.uk/whi...i-19tdi-cupra-19tdi-fr-19tdi-1199-p-2827.html

Then the rears they do a 22 and a 24

http://www.dpmperformance.co.uk/whi...i-19tdi-cupra-19tdi-fr-19tdi-1199-p-3988.html

The 22 front and 24 rear would be pretty good you reckon?

Yea, basically thicker front will be more bias to understeer, thicker rear goes to oversteer; but after all these cars are fwd so we need all the help we can get to keep the front in check! 22mm F 24mm R should be perfect; I know a number of LCRs with 25mm F 28mm R, some say its too stiff, others say its perfect.. 22/24 should be a good compromise :)

I'm sure I've seen some for £90 each somewhere I'll have to search about see what I can find.

Fk also do a larger loop arb for lowered car and is a great job with shortened droplinks.. its about 130delivered (Venomotorsport).. wel thats to N.I so prob less no mainland

some guys on uk-mkivs fit the 4motion front arb.. but not sure if its a straight fit into the subframe..

Also beware that the eibach uprated kit will not cured the front rubbing issues as the longer is only about 1/2" bigger... we learn from our mistakes.lol

There was a FK one on ebay last week but it had marks on it from rubbing on the DS so I don't really want one of those.

Those whitline ones seem good but from what I can make out from the DPM section theres only 22 front and 22 rears in stock.......although I guess a 22 rear is better than the standard set up of......well nothing!

Yeah someone asked if it had any damage and bloke said just a mark where it had rubbed on the DS.....I think it was a FK.....either that or a KW........no good for me if its not got bigger hoops.

It made just over £50 I think

was cheap at that compared to the new price.. but i would doubt it would have solved your prob as id say it probably similar to the eibach bar.

edit: maybe you should try the FK bar to solve the rubbing issues in the mean time... it will most definatly not rub with shorten droplinks

had this set up in both my bora(lowered 100mm) and golf(lowered 120mm) with not a rub at all.

Yeah I think the whiteline front is pretty well rated and it goes under the DS so no rubbing issuses :)

good idea.. if you get urself on uk-mkivs there is often group buys, u could maybe save a pound..

or give the idea on here to DPM

Adam, you will need a thicker front bar than rear.
Your LC set up is different to the LCR where a thinner bar is more effective.
The OEM LCR one is 18/19mm and the OEM LC one is 23mm

For you I'd suggest say a 25mm front and 25mm Adjustable rear

fk bar clears the driveshaft adam... 90 summats quid

oem thickness... i have whiteline rear 22mm but 3 stage adjustable stiffness... works very well.

fk isnt an upgrade but i wouldnt bother upgrading the front on lc. benefit more from the rear, but as you need clearence the fk will work for you.

Willie isnt that just stiffening the whole car without changing the understeer bias?

When you lose grip on a round a bout do you over or understeer on your set up? I only have a rear Arb fitted , front is stock but the car is very balanced. It will just about understeer first but a quick flick will bring oversteer.

If i was adam id do the rear first and see what it feels like.

agreed... rear only on lc... but adam needs d/shaft clearence due to having coilies. so an fk loops the shafts to clear them.

rear 22/25mm will do you good on the lc.

Interesting and generally I do agree :)

Wonder why Eibach, KW and H&R for leons do 25/25mm??
