Another DPF fault??!!

This afternoon engine management light rears its ugly head. No limp mode, regen light isn't showing so I am thinking possible sensor fault.

Drive it twice more and EM light still showing and nothing else. Third start drive around the corner and "BONG" :wtf: - message on dash saying DPF instructions and the DPF regen light is lit.

I am thinking that it is most likely a O2 sensor or EGT sensor fault/fail. Am I correct? It hasn't (yet!) gone into limp mode.

I'm 10minutes drive from dealer so will nip over with it in the morning. It's 18months old and done 18500 miles so still under warranty so I am staying surprisingly calm!

Any opinions? Am I wrong?

Just the other week I think I had the same problem.

Was driving around and the engine management light popped up and then about 15 mins later the dpf light popped up. So I drove for 10 miles in 4th gear at 50mph as I have heard this is what you need to do to clear the dpf light. This cleared the dpf light but not the engine management light. So I called Seat assistance they sent out a truck and took it to the nearest dealers. I explained to them what had happened and they said it would be sensor x. They then hooked the car up to there computer and it was the sensor x.. I was given a new Ibiza for the day while they fixed it under warranty. Its been fine since.

So it seems that I am on the correct track!

Car at the dealers now but unfortunately they have no courtesy car available so they have dropped me at home.

Thanks for answers guys.

Good luck with this. If you get a phone call blaming your driving style, fight it. Some folks get grief from garages when taken in for DPF work - I did and so did a close friend of mine - but we both won out by reading up on all the DPF advice on here first. Do a search and make sure you are fully informed, won't do any harm if you just end up with polite service. Ask if they have upgraded the ECU software at the same time - some need it, some don't.

All sorted!

DPF pressure sensor needed replacing. All covered under warranty without hassle. Only downside is I got a puncture on my bike as I cycled over to pick it up[:@] !!!
