Hi Mark,

I will certainly give y'all my own opinion of it once it's fitted - no problemo there, Vid might be tricker though (would prob sound **** done via my phone!!)

As far the Forge spacer goes - then this thread has kind-a put me off the idea - not keeon on LOOSING performance for the sake of extra noise tbh!

Well that was a nice surprise!

Called Greenlight up to see how much adding an induction kit to my car would alter my premium and they said nowt!!!!

Got something about how they would normally just charge an admin fee for such things (which is what i was expecting in the very least!), But because i'm fairly close to renewal anyway (sept) there would be NO charge![B)]

Ok that don't mean to say come September i might not be feeling sick becuase of what they want come renewal time - but NOT geting charged for adding the kit was a very nice surprise!

Not expecting the renewal to be THAT bad though tbh as when i was originally looking round at LCR's i got quotes off of price comparison sites (which i've NEVER found to be cheaper than Greenlight!), and it was cheaper to insure the LCR (albeit a standard one) than it was to insure the FN2 CTR i was running at the time!!!

Hows DOES it sound bud - anything like that LCR in the link or basically not much more than the o.e airbox - just maybe with more induction roar!???

You get a roar and a whoosh, but I wanted the other noise (can't even describe it but heard it on a mk5 golf and an evo the other day)

My kit arrived yesterday and today the weather has been good enough after i clocked off so i managed to get it fitted![B)]

All i can say is that anyone who needs MORE noise than what you get with this kit must like things VERY loud indeed!!

Once i'd gotten back from my jaunt out after fitting the kit, i thought i'd look under the bonnet again to see if my car WAS already with the Forge spacer (it isn't btw!), As the noise you get off of the induction kit alone is EASILY more than enough for me - in terms of noise inside the car!

Dunno whether this is how the kit SHOULD be, but even from say 1500rpm in 5th/6th gear - stick your toe on the loud pedal and you can hear the sound of air rushing down the metal intake pipe, let off n you get the recirc DV giving off a distinct Tssh!!, Oddly enough the kit (imo anyway) seems less intrusive when your WOT gunning it in the higher revs than it does just pottering about gently breathing on the gas pedal!

Car deffo sounds like i've got towd Darth Vader onboard and on steroids now!:D:starwars:

Certainly DON'T want it any louder than it is now, as it's really audible in the car and any louder would just make it a PITA to be honest!

Just pootling up slight inclines with partial throttle on now gets a definite sound of air being sucked through the kit - even as i say when the revs are sub 2k!!

Does this sound about right to y'all who've already got induction kits fitted (is this the sort o noise your getting too!?)

Yep that sounds about right with regards to the noise, lower revs produce the darth vader noise then a woosh or similar noise when you let off .

Aha - cooool![B)]

Why anyone would want anything louder than this though is beyond me - this kit is loud enough!

Biggest problem i had fitting mine was a damn nut on the underside of the heatshield (the right hand side one!) as i could barley get my hand too it!

Sort of a bit miffed that my engine cover won't fit now though, but dunno as i'm keen on what looks like a major hack job with a dremmel etc to make the cover fit!?!!, that and the intake pipe is only just really clearing a connector at the back on the bulkhead! (it's Ok - it's just close!)

other than that it's all good!!;):D
