I thought I'd better introduce myself as the least I can do for the help I've received here already
I'm Ben. 33, looking for oh wait wrong forum.
I own from new a 2006 1.9 TDI black magic Altea ref sport that has a few rattles, dodgy interior light, air con that intermittely blasts cold air whilst on hot and an occasional frozen boot lock and some back alley touch up for dents put in by shopping trolleys. I like to make my old car shine, understand the 4 stroke engine, but have no idea how my car actually works under the hood and tbh will only really limit myself to changing the car's bulbs and passing judgement on the services I pay for
I'm still annoyed by a certain dealer (not one I've just had a service with) - who decided to machine wash my car without asking - 2006-2012 without swirls*.
My most embarrassing moment was attempting to over take a Corsa to find that the engine had gone into limp mode - no turbo - due to (what I assume) was something dodgy in the fuel as it's been fine ever since. Less said the better
* Whose replacement bulb blew in 48 hours, and who quoted me £75 for a new interior light that is basically caused by dodgy contacts that I don't want to risk fixing for myself.
