With the long delivery dates expected for the CUPRA 300,
I was told by Seat finance end of Jan/ beginning of Feb is anyone considering waiting for the virtual cockpit to become available?

I saw a video stating it would be available from the beginning of 2018 for the ATECA and LEON. It was the same video in which they presented the CUPRA R (unable to post links)

Unfortunately though neither the dealership or seat finance are aware of this feature...

Hi there, I am in exactly that situation at that moment. I think I am going to wait for it though depends when it's actually released. Still gives me time to decide between DSG 4 wheel drive or manual 2wd.

If its an important feature for you then wait.

I think its a nice feature but not essential. I looked at it in the Golf R and thought that most of the time I would have the classic view which gives you the same as now with just a small extra bit in the middle. On that basis I ordered rather than keep waiting.

Just remember that come the new year there may be news of something else and you so decide to wait a bit longer and so on. You end up never buying a car as your continually waiting for something coming round the corner.

Although some will see it as a gimmick, others will want it and it may be the difference between someone buying or walking away from your car when you come to sell it later on. if your leasing the car then not something you need to worry about.

Just remember that getting behind a Leon with virtual cockpit is still going to be 7-8 months away. Could be even longer depending on what you order and what other options you go for.

The virtual cockpit is for cars after week 22 production.. you can order it from week 2. The dealer in sweden told me. And for the ibiza and Arona also later on in 2018..

Is it likely to be standard on the Cupra or an option?

It will be an option on all trims as SEAT won't force something onto buyers that may not want it and look elsewhere. Whether it will be a no cost option on the Cupra, we will have to wait and see.

My wife has the virtual cockpit in her Audi, it's a nice touch and a bit different, however it is like anything, once you get used to it just like a bigger screen TV it becomes just a nice touch and in my opinion not worth waiting significantly for.

I love the virtual cockpit, but it's not a deal breaker for me. I have a Leon on order at the moment and it doesn't bother me that it won't have it. Next time I change car, it won't be a new feature - hopefully all the bugs will be ironed out and it'll work with Android Auto!
