Thanks

There is mine. I ordered it without the badges. This picture shows also the difference between metallic white (Nevada White) and the VAG standard white (Candy white, on the left at VW Tiguan).

I'm not a massive fan of the new Leon font but looking at the de-badged versions, i think i prefer the badge over no badge at all.
Me too. IMHO the de-badged version looks a bit naked. It surprised me how much of a difference removing the badges actually makes.

Seriously?

Strange; de-badging the rear of the MK3 makes it look less cluttered.
De-badging the MK4 makes it look like there's a big space with something missing.

Of course, I think quite the opposite. :) More pictures (now with summer tyres) to make things more complicated for meggs88 to decide ;).

I had the mark3 and 3.5 Leons both without badges and I think it suits the mk4 as well. Having no badges makes washing/waxing much easier. And I really don't like the new Leon text with that handwriting font. It looks sketchy. I may add the old (red and black) FR logo later though. The new FR logo is just too bland.

Debadging works if you're interested in the hatch. The shut lines are higher which makes it look more proportionate than the ST without a badge.
It's the first request I made to the dealer after placing my order, I just couldn't stand the cursive font.

That does look OK partially de-badged - I say partially as it’s still wearing it’s FR badge. I agree on the shut lines; the hatch panel beneath the handle is less deep on the hatchback car compared to the ST, so IMHO does look more in proportion.

Just my opinion though………

It looks better on the hatch than on the ST I'll give it that. Still not sure I'd have it myself though

On a side note, is it just me or does the shape of the tailgate mean it picks up more dirt than normal. I swear I'm having to wash my Mk4 way more often than my Mk3.

Just noticed yours was dirty in the same places as mine.
I park it every day inside but it's alway dirty 😅

A dirty rear end is a consequence of aerodynamics and airflow over ‘two box‘ shaped hatchback and estate cars. My understanding is that as air moves over the surface of the car when it’s being driven forward, an area of low pressure is created immediately behind the car, and air containing dirt and dust particles in the atmosphere are pulled in to fill that area of low pressure. That dirt and dust swirls around and gets sucked onto the rear facing panels (bumper, tailgate, rear screen).

As for your mk4 getting dirtier than your mk3 - it could be that the mk4’s body shape creates a slightly different airflow pattern over the car compared to your mk3. Also, some paint colours will show dirt more readily than others, so if the colour of your mk4 is one that shows dirt more readily than the colour of your mk3 then that might also help explain why your mk4 gets dirtier and needs washing more often than your mk3 did.

I’ve read on various forums of people fitting rear mud flaps in the expectation they’ll keep the rear of their car cleaner. Due to the way dirt gets attracted to the rear of the car, mud flaps will make pretty much no difference - they may help reduce stone chip damage to the underside of the rear bumper though that some mk4 Leon and Cupra Leon owners have experienced.
