Hi guys,

Been having clutch cable problems for a while, decided to get the local dealer to fit a new one and pedal as still not right when I replaced the cable originally. They have told me that the pedal box has been welded back to the bulk head at the wrong angle . What shall I do, is it just a case of taking it off, grinding away the weld and refixing?

Yep £60 pound for the part, but its another £300 or something for fitting of the peddle box.

You could probably do it yourself, if you were armed with a haynes manual and not use your car for the time that it would take to do it.

haynes manual £8 off ebay, half/full day off work, save yourself a load of cash, few drinks for a mechanic mate?

just make sure you get some new sheer bolts and the plastic clip to go in the peddle

Can you let me know where you get a pedal box for £60? Still waiting on a price from the dealer, but as they quote £35 for a cluth pedal I'm expecting their price on the complete box to be a bit more than £60?

If you paid that much you have been assed raped!

If I remember it cost me about £148 to get it fitted

Where did you get yours done Dave Cymru, is there an independant specialist near you or was it a dealer? only reason I ask is im only in Swansea.

I didnt pay that, my pedal box is bolted together and everything is alright since i put the new clutch cable on!

Garage in Aberkenfig.... went there because he did my mates padel box on his Ibiza but after mine he said he had a tits full and never doing it again!

Just ring around garage by you and see what they will cost!

Thanks for responses guys, I think mine is a new box job as it looks like some cowboy has really butchered the last one (thats if they have not damaged the fixings for the pedal box)
