I have 1 and its very useful. Lets you know what the fault code is when the engine light comes on, you can the determine if its a serious fault or 1 to get rid of! It will clear the fault aswell so no more expensive trips to the dealer to have a diagnostics check.

Perhaps something to keep in the car, just in case then, so you don't have to use VAG-COM.

Does it just display the code, or a description too?

I think it comes with a book with the fault codes in & descriptions. I think the unit only displays the fault code !
