CHRIIS.. same thing happened with me, was significantly cheaper when I went to Admiral direct, give them a try and good luck with a quote!

noo because i got the price through go compare and i rang them up once and they said because i got the price online its extra low because ther is an online discount?
dont want to sound like a stuk up ***** but i live in a really good area aswel very calm rarely get any trougle down my road atall im probly the worst in the road always have people complaining about loud exhausts on my cars or that im wheelieing my bike down the road or something (bandit 600) :funk:

I have one years no claim almost two. My insurance for my 1.2 was £850 my insurance for my boc when i was 20 the day after purchasing it was £870. Can't complain too much about that price increase. With elephant btw.

wow just got a quote with admiral 1100 which is 300 cheaper than mine now :D. forgot to put my mum and dad on my insurance on this car. going to go to dealership later to see what they can do for me im getting excited :D

No one insurer is any cheaper than any other. It all depends on where you live (crime rate), your age (younger = more likely to have an accident), engine size (bigger = more likely to crash), value of car (more expensive = bigger pay out if you write it off, therefore bigger premium).

I've been with Direct Line for 7 years and no one could touch them (with Astra 1.8). I bought the Cupra and my premium doubled! Shopped around and got a premium less than my Astra with Admiral. However, when my GF got a quote from them for her Corsa, they were more epensive than Direct Line so it just depends on lots of factors.

I think price comparison websites add stupid prices I was quoted 4000 by admiral on gocompare using the same details went on admiral.com and got it down to 1100

I believe it is illegal to be on your parents insurance and be the main driver or owner of the car, they call it 'fronting'. You have to be the insured person and your parents as named drivers, which is the cheapest way to do it legally.

That is my understanding too, although having it like that doesn't bring the price down much at all from what I've seen?

Yes you are correct on that! (I remember top gear did a show about it) I did this for 3 years but never had accident or anything (mostly i don't drive my car much). I remember my insurance was £1200+ down to £650 and then £300 for a Polo 1.2 (mother as the main driver and i'm the named driver) but now it's different for me I'm the main driver and mother is the named driver and the insurance for FR is about £800 will go down in price next year! i'm 23 with 4 or 5 NCB with CIS.

I found out admiral insurance is not correct because I did a few quotes with them FR, CUPRA, BOC and 1.4 SC.

FR £780
Cupra £630
Boc £1100
1.4 SC £630 (yes i know same price as the cupra)

I think reason why the FR is more expensive than the cupra is because FR more popular choice for people to drive it stupidly.

This isnt the first time i've heard this.. but i had a bump in march 09 and i was driving and i was at fault but my insurance said nothing about it? im not entirely sure it was my mum who took out the insurance so i don't really know to be honest!

I'll ask though

Your mum has committed insurance fraud.

Yes, this is also what i found with the FR TDI being more expensive than the Cupra.
Although my insurance on the 1.4SC is around the £500 mark, and quotes for the cupra were £700+ and the FR £900+

Most curious thing there though is that the Boc is £470 more a year to insure for a black front bumper...nice!

As much as you have a little dance about it, we get some :censored: who likes to ride around near us on a shitty moped sounding thing late at night and also boy racers who like to go down the road, turn around then speed back up the road with their stupid loud exhausts.

Unfortunetly, i'm against you cause it annoys the hell out of me when i come home to have a peaceful night after work or trying to sleep!

and rant over lol.
