App remote parking

Hi Lads,

I cannot for the life of me get the app remote parking working, it keeps dropping connection in the car i think. I downloaded the volks app and selected ID option and that works sometimes but also drops connection. anyone any ideas?
I am in contact with Cupra Ireland by email but no fix as of yet they are gone very quite emailing me back

Sorry can’t help you, but you’re a much braver person than me if you would entrust a remote parking function to safely park your car. For manoeuvres such as parking I’d personally want to be fully in control from the driver’s seat .

On the vehicle I was shown the system on the "driver" (stood outside the vehicle) accessing the app on their phone had full control of the vehicle during the process and had to keep their finger pressed on the "go" button on the phone screen. If they took their finger off it would stop the vehicle.

You could argue in that case that you're basically using a remote control to move your vehicle, just like a motor mover on a caravan, if you willingly let the vehicle hit something (which is quite unlikely given how sensitive it is), then the onus is on you as the operator.

If the process were fully autonomous and required no driver input then the brand might well be responsible?

Park assist has been around for years, the only difference with the remote version is you stand outside the vehicle and control it with the app.

FYI, we had half a dozen goes and it worked successfully once.
