Hi all,

i have done plenty of reading thanks to all your threads and posts on this topic.
Now obviously my drivers side arb is rubbing against the driveshaft due to me being on coilovers. My question is, has anybody here got longer drop links like the FK ones instead of uprating the front arbs? I have seen FK drop links for £60 from Venom motorsport and these are half the price of front ARB's plus only take minutes to change.

Is it worth just changing these drop links and then getting me an arb for the rear? I have heard on front wheel drive cars its best to add a rear arb for better handling??

Anybody tried adding a rear ARB without changing the front??

I've also fitted coilovers [last week] and everyone said I needed longer droplinks to push ARB away from the DS......so I bought the V-Maxx adjustable ones.

Fitting the longer ones actually make the ARB closer to the DS and I had to modify them to make them shorter than standard......I'm not the only one who needed shorter ones I did a search and other people have had to make them shorter to.

Hi Adam,

This sounds so strange because if i full lock my steering to the right i can see the arb sitting on top of the Driveshaft hence why it rubs when i turn right. Now surely if i get the drop links which are higher(longer) then the ARB will sit above the Drive shaft?? This is what the guy at Venom said they do?

Well yours may be different to my set up?

As you can see when you extend the links you push the ARB up but you also push it back so the further up you push it the further you push it back towards the DS [as you can see on the pics the front touches the DS when adjusted]

If you were to move it down the curve of the ARB sits nicely over the DS [on mine]

How low are you? I'd say i'm about 45-50mm

I dont know how low, but i can tell you that the wheel arches are about 1.5 cm from the tyre on all sides.

I have tried moving the front higher but i dont see the point having coilovers if im going to be sitting on a high ride height?

I dont know what to do now as i dont want to waste £60 on some drop links if they dont solve the rubbing issues.

I may have to get the ARB's after all which = more money. :(

Well if you look underneith it with a light does it look as if it will clear if the ARB is moved forward so the curve comes over the DS [shorter links] or does it look as if it will clear if it is pushed up and back? [longer links]

When I made mine higher it was the front of the ARB that hit on the DS....even when extended loads as shown in my pics.

Does it only hit on full lock to?

Mine actually rubbed whilst driving in a straight line.

Hi Adam,

Mine only rubs when i am close to full lock to the right never in a straight line, but i can hear it knocking against the DS when i go over pot holes or road humps.

I understand now what you mean about longer drop links, the front of the arb is what is rubbing on mine too, i had a better look with a torch at full lock to the right.

Damian is it worth getting the adjustable one and if so how hard is it to adjust??

Does it need to be removed to adjust it?? oh and what mm are they, i belive the OE Leon Cupra is 21mm??
