Are you killing your car?

I wonder about 9 with DSG. EA211 1.2 TSI with DSG is my first automatic car. It shifts to 6th at 50km / h and 7 to 60km /h even at slight grades while I'm easy with the throttle. Problem is, when I want to climb that hill and apply more gas, it just wants to hold onto 6th or 7th as long as it can. Until the low rpm or my 2/3rd flooring the gas finally forces it to shift down. I know the engineers couldnt have overlooked this if it would be a problem, but I am still concerned. Shall I engage S mode once I'm climbing a hill, will it be healthier for the car? D just doesnt let the car run above 2k rpm and S just wont shift up below 3k. I wish there would be a 3rd normal operation.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the DSG7 likes to labour - I've found myself dropping a cog or two via the paddles/shift-gate to bump the revs (even then it will only go to 1900-2100) as the manual states not to labour when running in, but it's never good anytime.
