Been trying for a while now to get the ariel off my ibiza as the top part is missing. Are they an anti theft type becuause it gets to a point, then keeps spining and drops down, How does it come off, if it does come off?

unscrew it until it lies flat and doesn't unscrew anymore, then pull it really hard and try not to fall on your arse when it comes out  that'll do the trick ;)

Not if one hand is holding the bit by the base of the aerial/roof bit and the other pulling the aerial.

i got my last two off... just unscrew then there is a ball shaped bit of metal after the treads that u need to get out of its hole.. so keep twisting it and make wierd angles.... lol i did mine like this...

I unwound mines as much as possible, sat a towel off the roof and a gentle tug with a clawhammer and it came clean off no problem.

easier than mine then had 2 of us pulling on it had my bee sting ariel nicked then 2 days later so i had to put it back on:cry:

what aerials can u fit instead then as in shorter ones? are they a special fitment or something?

i jst changed mine recently, obv unscrewed it as much as people sed then kind of push twist and pull it to one side and it jst pops out lol!!didnt pull the base off of my roof!

Tried it and gave up, way to cold to be messing around with fiddly little things, will try when its not really icy out

Yes, but overlaps the base.

not sure what u mean, does it look ok or a bit silly?

edit: i think i know what u mean, the diameter of the ariel is bigger than the diameter at the top of the base so it doesn't smooth in, instead has a lip?
