What colour of sender unit is the coolant temp sender on the ARL TDI 150 FR Leons ??

Mine is a 2005 model

Mines in the top coolant hose to the right of the engine, not sure on your engine.

I would go outside and look but its seriously aint stopped pissing of rain here for 4 days
