Going into my garage after watching some of the stuff on YouTube is a recipe for disaster.

You see, I have a few parts

So a plan was hatched which may or may not be a good idea and/or may or may not happen.

The basis is a PD150 engine from a Mk1 Leon Cupra TDI

I don't have a car for this to go in yet and only a vague idea of what I want to do with it. But it should be fun (and get rid of some parts)

Right, update time!

Here's the front of the engine as it came from the factory

And here it is modified for the new use

Subtle but that's a bracket from a later PD engine which gets rid of the power steering pump (don't need it) but keeps the alternator up high. Fuel pipes removed because I can put them anywhere

Next, the back of the engine. Normal.

And then what it's changed to

Bit more drastic. That's a gearbox facing inlet, AVF turbo (Passat PD130) clocked so the outlet faces up, EGR delete but keeping the ASV because that's kinda important, stainless steel oil feed pipe, intermediate shaft from a Touran (this means modifying the gearbox to work).

Tempted to fit a shallow sump partly to delete the level sensor (want as few electrics low down as possible) and give a shade more clearance
