arosa radio wiring

hi, not sure if anyone will be able to help me, but I need help wiring in my after market radio into an 02 arosa. I pretty much need an idiot’s step-by-step guide as to how to sort the wiring out and what needs to go where. If this is too much hassle id appreciate if someone could let me know what each colour wire that feeds into the arosa wiring plugs represents. I’ve listed how the wiring plug in my arosa is set up followed by how the new cd player requires me to have the wires connected to the unit.

The first connector has
1-white/green 2- nothing
3- white/grey 4- brown/red
5- black 6- blue/grey
7- red 8-brown

and the second 1,2,7,8 nothing

3 – red 4-red/ brown
5- blue 6- blue/brown

my cd player requires that the connector has these wires feeding into them in this order
1)r/h rear + 2) r/h rear -
3)r/h front + 4) rh/front –
5)l/h front + 6) l/h front –
7)rl/h rear + 8) r/h rear

second conector 1 2 3 6 nothing.
4) battery + 5) antenna
7)ACC 8)Ground

If anyone’s able to help id appreciate it. I want to be sure of exactly what colour wire I need to connect where.

Do the plugs look the same or are they different types? You usually need an ISO adaptor for aftermarket radios, if you have one it's pretty much plug-and-play.

The only fiddly bit is that two of the wires usually need to be changed around to get the radio to switch on and off with the ignition correctly, but stick up a couple of photos of the wires/plugs and we can point them out to you :)

Depending on how old the H/U is it should have ISO connectors, This will just plug straight into your existing wiring on the car, However the permanant live and the ACC are the wrong way around, You won't do any harm in plugging these together it will just mean you have not got any mem on the H/U.
You either need to swap pins 4 and 7 around on your first list or buy an ISO adaptor for the easy option, These have bullet connectors to allow you to do this with ease.
Just had a quick look on ebay and there is one cheap at £1:98 inc p+p, Here is the number if you want it; 170428386079
There are hundreds on there but if you want to do your own search just type in "ISO VW" etc.
You could also put your own bullet connectors on the original wiring if you have them.
You will also need an aerial booster if you want to listen to the radio, These are built into OEM VAG H/U's

Yes the aerial lead plugs into one end and the other end then plugs into your H/U, The fly lead that comes from it connects to either the blue remote wire that would connect to an amp etc or the brown/red wire from pin 4 on the connector block, The remote wire would be first choice though.

Bear in mind that if the radio doesn't save your changed settings when the engine is switched off and on again, the red and yellow wires will need to be swapped over (yellow to red, red to yellow) in order for it to work. I fitted my Kenwood unit yesterday and it wasn't saving anything. This afternoon I got behind it, changed these wires over (via two rubber holdings) and bingo, it saved everything :)
