Hi guys,
Been out of the country for 4 months during which my car tax ran out and i ended my insurance policy; the car has been off the road.
I reinsured the car 3 days ago with asda who already had the car. How long does it take for the car to show up as insured on the Motor insurance database? Obviously I need to tax the car and was going to do so online so i didn't have to wait for the cover note to some via snail mail.

i had this the other week. i tried doing tax online the day i insured it but couldnt as it wasnt on the database, the next day it worked you dont need to wait for the cover note so you only have to wait a day and your on the road

i recogn it could take upto 2 weeks to show on the database, as i got stoped after having insurance for 12 days but the police where like NO you dont have ANY insurance! there is no record on our database.:w4nk: even tho i did

as soon as you insure it for then its insured just takes a while to go on data base..

everything has to be on the system within 7 days. !!!! by law.

It's not compusory for insurance to be shown as held on the "database". insurance companies usually do choose to use it.

what database you on?

cos mid has to be updated and details added to the system within 7 days by law. like i already said
