How hard would it be to put a set of audi 17's on my Seat Fr tdi?
(looking to purchase the set in the next day so any advice would be great, oh and the tyres on the rims are 225/45/r17 mine are 205/40/r17 cant be to much issues there?)

Gutted Post update

Car was fixed on Saturday had to replace the rear axle which RashCupra said it would take between 2-3 Hours and it took me and a mate 2 and a half so he was right.

The back alloy that looked just badly scuffed is in fact buckled slightly so thats why i was thinking of getting some audi rims.

Total Cost of replacing a stud axle, wheel hub and rear axle plus use of a garages ramp = £527......costly error.

the tyres are too big for a start.
if their off an A3 or some of the older Audi's they will be 5x100 so will bolt straight on, other wise they will be 5x112 and you'll need adapters at around £100

Not sure what they are off, i saw a euro style ibiza on this site with them on, 5 spoke with a polished finish i think they are AUDI TT rims so they should just bolt on....providing i change the front tyres first becuase i think my standard mk 4.5 fr rear will take 225/45/r17?

It may take them, but they're still the wrong size to keep the rolling radius and hence the gearing the same as what it should be. Ditch the tyres and swap them for 205/40 17's.

would 225 wide rims take 205 tyres? i have seen borbet A rims with tyres that looked as if they were stretched on.

Yup as I had 205's on my old TT wheels.

Admittedly they were a tiny bit stretched, but nothing major...

^ Nice and low! [B)]

TT comps (I think thats what you're on about - fat 5 spoke) I'm not sure if they're 7 or 7.5 wide.

Defo dump the tyres. Get some 205/40 possibly 215/40 if they're 7.5 and you have a tendency towards curbs

Another guy on here had some polished Comps with big tyres. Has a thread somewhere...

205/40 on my old 8" wides, a little stretched.

If you're looking to be at all original TT comps are not the way to go!

no no no...when will SCN learn, everytime someone puts Audi replicas on an Ibiza i'm gunna personally go and kill some puppy dogs!

Mine weren't replicas. They were proper originals which weighed a ton which is why I put the SeatSport Oz's on.

I realise they are not original but they do look nice, its that or i was thinking of refurbing my FR 17's and painting them anthricite..........that might be a first on FR 17's? the cupra ones look nice.

Might avoid the audi ones so croakey does not kill any helpless animals.

The thing that temps me is the audi ones look nice and i have found a mint set cheap.
