Once you hit 15mph and the central locking kicks in it'll revert to its original position.

Sorry, I should have added at the end, the mirror does stay down until I put the selector knob back into the centre position.
I did expect the mirror to return once I drove forward but I suppose that would mean the mirror constantly going up and down if you needed to shuffle back and forwards while parking.

So to recap, as you did above but don't re-adjust your mirror at the end, simply put the knob in the "0" position rather than the "L" position.

You can leave it in L or 0 after setting it up, I did it with the engine still on when I first set mine up. Engine still on, put into reverse, set LH mirror to the position you want to see the kerb, put into drive and drive off, and the mirror went back to normal position. stop car , the LH mirror is still set to L, put into reverse and it dips to what I set. I then put it to 0 so it only dips when I choose, not wanting it dipping for every reverse, just when parking next to kerb.:D

Yeah, after I adjusted it this morning and started driving away I was all "Ah FFS - now it's stuck looking at the floor". Until I got out the car park!

Possibly a blonde moment, but I have no option in the mirror/wipers setting for this. Should they be one?
All I have is synch adjustment, fold in when parked and auto wipers which are all ticked.

Wonder if this build has the missing or faulty reverse mirror setting
VIN number is VSSZZZ5FZER028974

Mine was also disabled by Seat - it would be useful to know what the part numbers are and cost to correct this.

In the meantime I've enabled it using VCDS and find it 90% functional and still well worth having only needing to manually correct it every tenth time or so. Also enabled it on my neighbours Octavia VRS works perfectly on that.

I'm in the same boat - no option to enable as my car was in scenario 2.

Might have to get round to getting a VCDS cable and doing it that way.

Would also be interested in understanding the costs of rectifying too!

I need to get to my Seat dealers find a 14 plate car with this working and give the parts dept the reg number. If I use my reg they'll prob supply the exact parts with the issue !!

I'm up for doing this removing the door card is pretty straight forward then i'd imagine it's disconnecting the harness removing a couple of bolts and changing the mirror glass and cap over.

Well, tried everything suggested but in the end had to admit defeat and go back to the dealer and as some suggested earlier, there was a production issue a while ago and the feature was deleted.

Guessing my car was produced during that period.

Looking at the YouTube vids of it in action tho, it doesn't look like it moves a great deal anyway, so will continue with having the mirrors synched and doing it via the button if needed.

Ok so now contacted 2 Seat part departments and have been told the same - the mirror on my car is identical part number and revision to a late 14 plate car reg that I gave to them although they won't give out part numbers !!. The mirror is £83.83 which I thought was reasonable and the glass £53.57 which is less so.

So now back to square one, the issue must lie elsewhere which leads me to the control module. Can anyone with a late 14 plate car, working mirror dip and access to VCDS post the Central electrics module details please. Mine are :-

Just spoke to parts department and have a number and price of the passenger door module having given them a number plate of a recent 14MY car :-

5Q4 959 592 BZ00 £94.37

Still can't verify if this is the part needed to fix this on early 13MY cars without removing my door casing to see what is fitted to mine.

It may be parts that are required, I'm not sure would prob have to be whole unit including motor etc.

Hi, thanks for that - I had read that before and that was my understanding but now 2 parts departments have told me that my mirror part number is the same as that fitted to current cars so I'm now looking into the door module. I'll phone up tomorrow and see if I can get the number of the module fitted to my car and if different I'll buy the later one. It doesn't bother me too much I'm an automotive design engineer by trade and very inquisitive ;o)
