hi guys ive been thinking for a while about fitting one of the auto dimming rear view mirrors. something similar to that in the pug 307 - as its black!!! what are your ideas on this???????

Been done before I think. I'm sure somebody has taken one from an Audi and fitted it. Bit of a pain to do though, as the wiring can be tricky to feed. And the mirrors themselves tend to be fairly hefty in size, which looks odd.
But that aside, it's possible and not too hard to track down the parts, so go for it

Done it, audi a3 mirror in black without auto washer sensor fits straight on, wiring, 2 wires +V and -V and a third into reverse going pos when in reverse (I didnt bother) Same size as std but more rounded!
Sweet! It wasn't the A3 mirror I was reading about before, it was from a bigger Audi, which would explain the size difference.

dunno bout linking up the auto wipers i just like the idea of the dimmer mirror!! coz the amount of tos*ers round here with there headlights out of aim is untrue!!!!
nice i like that!!! which model a3 was it out of??? and how did you wire it in?? is it just a case of a switched positive supply, i.e. ignition feed and then a neutral???
