I'm sure it could be done but does any one know how much it would cost to make a Cupra automatic?

And before every kills me for asking I'm only curious. I was thinking about it while stuck in traffic on the motorway having to go from neutral to 1st to 2nd back to 1st back to 2nd back to neutral back to 1st blah blah blah for half an hr and to have covered very little distance. I was just thinking this is a pain in the ass I wonder how much it would cost to go auto.

My guess is £1k-£2K having no idea how much an auto gearbox costs lol.

Enlighten me...

well you have the labor cost for a start which is going to be a fair few hours, the cost of changing every part, Im also imaging it will need ECU changes etc,

yeah, A4 is longtudinal..... not transverse

I can't think of a FWD Mk4/5 golf with 160ish bhp that's an auto.

better off selling it for the conversion costs

sell my cupra you must be mad :clown:

changing gears is part of the fun. just not fun when stuck in traffic

Didnt the A3 have a 1.9 TDI auto.

But yeah if you want auto and manual buy a DSG leon.

had similar thing to dsg in my old smart roadster you got the best of both worlds apart from it had a stupid thing that when you hit the rev limiter it changed gears for you and if you had your back end out and it did that it all went boobs up haha

tbh dont think u can beat a good old fashioned manual, less to break, less complicated and Id say more fun.
Agreed, - except if you do a lot of stop-start driving in heavy traffic, when an automatic makes life much easier and means you have no clutch to wear out quickly.

just stay in first all the time dont need to change gear then but the clutch issue you cant change unless you want to seriously cough up some money! and imo loose the fun factor when you are out on the open road
