I still have mine to fit. Going to do it when I install new speakers. Saves taking the door cards off twice..
It does not look like an easy job, but if you follow the supplied instructions then hopefully it will be OK.
I believe the recess is an LED, yes.

From memory, it was obvious where the LED was on mine, but I couldn't tell you where.

I would drop autowindow a line, they're a good bunch...

cuprarstevefitz, the led (green) is indeed in that little hole where the jumper to switch modes is, gettin the door off gets easier the more you do it, If you follow guide carefully 1 wire at a time, checking each in guide for correct response, it really isnt that hard fitted mine in two different cars and refitted once when i sent it back to have a little extra added. if you have to press you unlock fob twice to unlock all doors as standard then dont bother to fit white wire the double pulse when opening all can cause windows to open when not needed ((its a seat funny) dealer can turn off double press) If i remember correctly one wire colour wasnt quite right so i used colour from mk4 golf or one of others listed! best way I've found to get wire across car is to pull out stereo and glove box (easy) then feed wire through over clocks, behind stereo and tuck up behind glove box! Be brave, expect it to take all day and you'll be done by lunch!!! If you get really stuck feel free to PM me or email Scott at A/W he's very good with advice and help!!

spoke to autowindows and they have said if i havnt got an led blink by the time i have fitted the black earth and purple main power then go no futher and test the wires for current, and it does say in the troubleshooting what read out you should get, although my prob is i dont have an elec tester to hand, but i can get one and also think i may have to call in a favour

such a ball ache !!!

so if i dont connect the white wire will that not affect the total working of the module, or that will just help disable the windows opening, as i do have to double press my fob to open the whole car and not just the drivers door
