I'm only asking here but, what if Leon 2012 is right?

And all he's doing is looking out for the forum members.

I think a few members are just jumping on the band wagon to put him down.

"My mate has the Awesome clutch - it did come with a Techniclutch sticker on it. He's running hybrid power and it seems to be ok"

1) not seen first hand
2) hybrid power and still ok

Do you see the prob with that? I clearly do.

Where are these people backing you up? Oh thats right they have more sense than to collaborate your daft story.

Its already been said its not a techniclutch. We know you don't like them, and the thread wasn't started to debate that.

They are near the same price. Big deal!

Also another good point is, that without people trying things and taking a punt. People wouldn't be able to learn about new products. All these companies started somewhere and without people like us, they wouldn't of got very far.

As my daughter would say.......... "your as mad as a box of frogs!"

Hi guys,

I'm a regular poster on Audi-Sport.net as I'm an S3 owner but someone pointed me to this thread.

I just wanted to post up my experience with this clutch kit since fitting it myself over the easter weekend.

I believe that I am the first person on ASN to install the Awesome GTI kit to their S3 as you will all know people don't tend to take a punt on different setups in forum communities ;)

I was doing a full engine rebuild including rods and a large port head so I decided to fit a new clutch and flywheel as my current OEM setup had started slipping at 275bhp and 307lbft torque.

Anyway it all fitted very easily and I was very impressed with the lighter pedal feel over normal. The pedal has stiffened slightly as it has bedded in (done 450 miles on it now) and the whole performance of the kit is spot on. I haven't noticed any noise at all from the flywheel while driving but you will get some chattering when in neutral but that doesn't bother me.

Overall i'm very happy with the kit and Awesome's communication and customer service when I was researching and ordering from them, it's a thumbs up from me.

If anyone is interested about my build at all you can read it all here:

Sorry for the shameless plug. (had to edit the URL as I dont have enough posts to link urls yet)

Out of interest I read a thread on the Awsome section earlier. It was asked if the SMF retained any drivability. The reply was that Awsome had made the SMF the same weight as a DMF for this reason.

Yeah apparently they weighted the SMF the same as a DMF to get the feel the same. I did weigh the Awesome SMF and it was 10kg but I forgot to weight my OEM DMF when I removed it :(
