fitted the 80mm TIP tonight, Honest impressions !!!

fitting was a bit fiddly and if you can get Bill to fit it do so, it's a bit of a squeeze to get at the bottom jubilee clip.
Also at this time of year leave it in the house to stay warm while you take the old tip off makes it much easier to manipulate.
pretty straight forward after that not sure the N75 and oil breathers need the jubilee clips cause they're in there pretty tight as is :)
take a bit of time tidying up the hoses and getting them out of the way BEFORE you push them into the TIP or you won't get them back out.

now the bit you want to know about ... does it make a difference ???

WELL ! if you're expecting it to transform it into a GTR then you'll be dissapointed.
but however there is a definate improvement that you can feel and tell it's there, yes it does pull stronger and smoother and even on a standard airbox with panel filter holds the power in the higher revs and isn't as asmatic.
and to me that was the most important thing actually being able to feel a difference and you can no shadow of a doubt.
wether it's worth the money? only you can decide that.....I've paid my money and i'm not disapointed with what I've got in return is all I can say ....
would I recommend one ? 100% yes

errr.......whats a B5 v2 TIP please?
and can i fit one to my car?

well after my drive to work and back i can report it has made a difference pulling in 6th from 60ish up to 80ish to overtake on the motorway has really improved and an added bonus the dump valve is quieter so it's not as loud in the car :)

I think the V1 is 76mm (3") and the V2 80mm (3.14"), and the fact the V2 is all one pipe where as the V1 is made up of 3 different sections.

Don't forget it's 80mm from end to end not like SFS TIP

1st mod I did when I had car in October and love it :)
Just waiting on a new filter & heat shield & jobs a good one :D

Your right in a way lol. Yes the actual tubing is the full 80mm but it's still tapers down inside at the turbo for the adapter to fit over. It's just that it's visible on the sfs item. The b5 one still looks better made tho I agree.

My 1st version, aka V1 was multi component, and made from 3" pipes... so not 3" inside diameter on the centre section. Its performance gains were excellent, but did drop torque 10lbft on the cars I tested on, but sustained torque for some 1500rpm longer, hence making more power.

The V2 evolved from the V1, and is 80mm Internal bore.. to the billet adaptor, so full bore, and 23% larger cross sectional area than the V1 was.. In performance terms, its gained everywhere.. and worked better. (and was possible to make cheaper than the V1 also)

V2 gain on an S3 running Revo2 below. Only change was fitting the V2 TIP, replacing its normal silicon TIP. Car already had JR filter and heatshield on it.

Thanks for the replys. I don't want to replace my VI TIP just wonder if there was much of a gain with the VII.
Bill would the new silicone pipe fit the turbo inlet reducer of the VI or is it to small in diameter? Just wondered if it was possible to up grade from the alloy section?

new is 80mm, old is 76mm, so no v1 billet wont fit onto v2 hose, sorry

V2 vs V1 gains below (different cars, but the gains are typical)

V1 76mm

V2 80mm
