I've been offered a set of ball joint extenders off a mate dirt cheap but there fitted to a mk2 golf, my question is will they fit the mk3 ibiza, here's a photo of them fitted

I'm only interested in these as I'm planning on turning the ibiza into a track car soon and thought it would save me money buying a set in the future

Is the idea of this to keep the lower arms straight after lowering ?

And I take it the idea of having the track rod ends upside down is to help eliminate bump steer ?

Might do this my self. How safe is it for road use , must wear the ball joint quicker due to increased leverage ?

yep you are right, my mate used these on the road and track and said the car felt alot more stable on bumpy/country lanes, he drove his mates mk2 golf vr6 which has the same set up as his but without the hub/ball joint mod and couldn't believe how unstable it felt over the same road.

he's modded the hub so the track rod sits at the same angle as the wishbone to cut down bump steer, the ball joint extenders go for £140 on eBay!!!

Really. I'm a machinist. Might start making them. How's the mod on the hub work then for the track rod end ?

Literally just press out a bush and press it in the other way ?
