CR2032, two of them.

Astonishingly, Flapper's guide does not include that useful bit of information.

Trivia time:
CR2032 indicates Lithium/Manganese dioxide chemistry, round, 20mm diameter, 3.2mm thick.
 
Although not one to disagree with anything Muttley says, it takes a single CR2032 or two CR2016's :)

Thank you, I think. Flapper's guide showed two batteries, and I didn't want to take my key apart unnecessarily. My mistake - just done so, and my standard key contains a single CR2032.

I have to say though that 2xCR2016 are NOT the same as 1x2032. Yes, they will fit in the same space, but two batteries in series will deliver 6V, which is likely to upset electronics expecting 3V.

Just changed my key batteries and they were 2x CR2016 and pretty sure they were the originals I took out.

Car is a 2001 Sport/LC and the batteries have a little dimpled metal disc fitted in between them, I guess for improved contact. :shrug:
