Why do Seat put the batteries in little jackets?

And would people also post pics of their engine bays, need some ideas

I'm sure mine has a cover too? Might not have one cos batterys been replaced cus? Probably there for fire reasons I'd imagine! Good idea with that useless fuse holder!!

i got a jacket on mine but the battery is now in the boot so i put it back on to tidy it up a bit.

as before though it's dark when i get home so pics are :w4nk:

ugly under the bonnet agreed but really tidies the boot as i'm not stripped out.

think the mk4 golf plastic covers look better tbh though.

my bonnet lining has gone, not checked the battery on the cupra lol

thinking back, my 1.4 never had bonnet lining!

here's a pic of my bay

never got around to cleaning the engine, will do in the spring/summer tho :D

i know :(

too cold at the mo. Keep doin bit at a time, but never seems to get clean. I have Surfex HD and Megs Next Gen. Been using toothbrushes to clean lol. Need some fine wirewool i reckon

What would you suggest is the best way to clean? Remove coil packs to make access easier???

well i managed to get a mates inlet manifold to spray black to put on mine. polished the inlet manifold by taking off the heat cover at the back and using auto glym metal polish

the rocker cover... well could take the coilpacks out, but i was planning on taking the full thing off to get sprayed black.

i also did some daft stuff like taking the plastic cover off the driver side of the engine, cleaning it and spraying that black as well. makes a big difference
used hammerite paint

AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH! i want to see these pics damn crappy work policies, can't even use photobucket either or see sigs!!!

yeah i know you warm up. Washed mine and bros car on saturday! It's just the "getting up and starting" that i find difficult when cold lol. Once you crack on, you soon warm up, finish withjust t-shirt on and sweating lol

Get some AutoSol or Brilliant polishes, they work a treat. I'll be starting mine soon.

had some AutoSol! Can't find it, hence buying Megs Next Gen just to give it a try. Quite disspointed TBH! Not as good as the autosol i had!
