Sadly it seems all Leons suffer with this when lowered a lot. A minimal amount of lowering is fine, but when you enter coilover territory and drop it more than, say, 40+mm the wheel appears to be too far forward. If you look at pictures of Leons that have been lowered by more than this sort of amount, most if not all of them suffer with it.

Cheers Rob, I had never noticed that before!

But excuse me for asking - in that picture the rear wheel looks too far forward in the arch (as in, off centre) - has someone messed with the picture or is that just the way it is?

I've seen a lot of Mk4 Golf's with the same thing on Vortex and UK forums, the rear wheels slump more forward when decked down, seems a common thing.

thats the nature of the suspension it always does it as you go lower i am sure somebody will be along to explain the reasons

It must be specific to the suspension pick up points on the Mk4 platform. While I appreciate geometry and stress points change, I've lowered cars before but hadn't seen it where the wheel moves so far forward like that.

I think you're right, as I've seen other cars lowered by quite a lot without this happening. Even VAG cars too, as I have a friend with a Polo that's 60mm lower (roughly) on coilovers.

I'd love to know why though?

What are your thoguhts on the 19x8?

Do you think they will clear without spacers?

It all depends on what suspension you have fitted, as according to BBS themselves my wheels should go straight on without any spacers, and they probably would if I was running the factory suspension!
The real pain with LCR's is caliper clearance, they are a nightmare to find wheels for!

Sixpot, how would you feel if you saw another LCR with the same wheels?

Because i'm getting tempted everytime I see this thread!

Any other LCR's with CH's around on here?

I quite like the RH AW Crossline alloy from www.dubmeister.co.uk, says it comes in a 8.5 x 19" ET 35, and for the price [B)] - Look like the Audi alloys, but with a lip? But i bet they don't fit

WOW mate impressive!!! they look awesome. just answered a question of mine in your post i have 8.5's to go on mine at the front rh topline merc rims. 18". so you say your ofset it 30 there to clear everything?? well make it 27 with the spacer included?? i do however have 9.5's to go on the rear gonna be coilies with bit rubber past the arch.

I'm sure they'll fit straight on to mine when you decide you don't want them on yours anymore!! :funk:

They are very nice wheels, not too sure about fitment either!

Yep an effective ET of 27.
What size adaptors are you gonna use for the 9.5's? They will require some seriously stretched rubber to clear the arches!!

I have eibach pro street s coilovers. I would of thought that with coilovers it would of been a sure fit because of the smaller spring seats

No Way!
Thats Shocking.

I used to have these wheels on my MKIV Golf GTI, they were lovely.

Of course you can have coilovers and just drop it 15mm or so and it would still look great and have none of the look of the wheels looking off centre.

As a general point;-

When I fitted my RS6 replica's everywhere I tried said I wouldn;t need spacers for the front calipers but any LCR owners changing wheels I would budget for them as it was total Bull (I needed 8mm spacers). 18 x 8.5 wide rims and 10mm spacers cleared the arch's fine BTW
