what exactly would you like to know?

1. things like (rev limiter, lifetime of the engine and any other not very known info about the engine...)??
I treat the engine very hard{i like to to work it all the time from 4.000rpm and up...}and my question is, Is it capable for that or it's going to blow off...?
Also like this engine because it really revs fast...but hate the gearbox i dont think its strong enough for this engine...
2.can i replace this gearbox with smoething better??
I Forgot to say that i'm from GREECE and my english arent so good, so forgive me if i confuse you...

if it were me i'd stick with it, run it into the ground then buy something faster. Ive always thought the 1.4 16v were a little sluggish and suffered from mountains of throttle lag?

As with most VAG cars the gearboxes are solid unless you drive like a tw**, in fairness if you want to rag the nuts off something and drive it to an inch of its life. I would buy either a cheaper car or a better car the 1.4 obviously isnt as built as some models to be abused. In all though if you want to drive a car fast why not save the money and get a fast car that you dont need to break to get it to go anywhere?

I'm with guiness on this one, mod your car yes but changing gearboxes is expensive and OTT. I would put the money towards something more powerful like a PD130 or the 100HP 1.4 model

Go buy a 1.6 VTEC.

I have the 100hp BBZ engine in my car, even tho its not a FS/Sportrider/Dub etc..

Its quite a good engine and revs up to 8k, but the thing with this engine is that all the power band kinda kicks in higher than the other 85ps engines.

For instance, when you get past 4k (half way), you can then feel the power kicking in, however between 1k and 3k the engine feels sluggish and takes ages to get up to 4k in lower gears. I usually use 2nd gear to get up to 40 haha, then use 3rd and 4th gear until i reach 70mph.

I think these engines are designed to run up in the higher revs then say, the 85ps lower spec engines, however still they are not designed to be revved to death and doing this can really reduce the life of the engine, if not cause issues, in the medium to long-term.

is that not bad for your car by getting up to 40mph in 2nd all the time? i have a blast for a couple of minutes now and then but i am frightened to put too much strain on the engine incase if mucks up the timing, injectors, pistons etc

VAG engines are pretty solid, obviously you wont wana ping the limiter in every gear all the time but a spirited drive is good for the engine, it will take alot of stick.

Its only a 1.4, it will feels sluggish until the mid-range, most N/A's do unless there modded or a big engine size.

thats good to know that my wee blasts are not doing any harm :)

thats pretty much what 16 valves are all about ive always thought,my old car was a 16 valve not a seat but it loved the high end of the rev range and took 4 years/25,000 miles of abuse and was still running great when i got rid.

Engines are designed to run a higher power than they are, you could put another 20% power through it and it wouldnt really make any difference as long as the engine is looked after.

I had a C2 GT before my beeza, 110bhp standard and i had it running around 140 in the end, drove it hard all the time, never had any issues and VAG engines are more solid than french.

just make sure good oil is used (i mean fuly-synthetic - ester based if possible) and its serviced regulary and it will be good for years.

interesting stuff! might sound like a stupid question but, how come french engines are not as good as german/jap?

The engineering is just better, french has caught up abit in recent years producing engine's for the likes of BMW but id still take a VAG engine, a jap engine over almost anything.

i did'nt know renault produced engines for BMW. I bought my car from a renault dealer and had a problem with rusting alloys, got a megane courtesy car while mine was getting sorted out, on returning the courtesy car the manager asked me how i liked the car to which i replied that it was just alright, nothing special, he then went on to tell me that he used to work in the seat design office and said that the engines are much better on VAG cars compared to renaults, said that they are not as strong.
