Beefing up interior quality...

As some already know, the thing I hate the most and I find really lets the Mk4 down is the interior quality - it's dreadful.

Well, I've got a couple of weeks off in the middle of December and have nothing to do... I'm stripping off most of my interior for a good clean - Seats & Doorcards included.

So I thought I'd beef up the interior quality while I'm at it. I am going to get some Dynamat and Sponge to sort out behind the doorcards and sort out the rattles coming from there that have already been covered on the forum.

I'll also remove the radio and facia, dash side panels and fill in certain bits behind the dash with cable ties and some sponge to clear the rattles in there - this should work yeah? Then remove the bootlid trim and do in there also.

The main reason for the post is this, the thing I think would really help is carpeting some interior parts like my Dad's Audi A6 has. Where could I buy some good material and adhesives to do this?

I'm planning on carpeting the Glovebox, Cubby hole (Under radio), Seat drawer and also the Cubby/Drawer under the lightswitch ... this should boost up the interior quality a bit?

Any help appreciated.

The minimum order is £40 - a little high... was hoping to spend about £20 tops with it coming up to Christmas.

You could flock the dash parts so it looks like a rally car dash but not sure how easy to get hold of

it is very easy to adapt seats from the audi tt. i put on he seats leather. the seats ar much more confortable the the originals. there is one more advantage for me. with the tt sits you can sit much lower than withe cupra's original.

hey up

hey up. ive had a few rattles in my motor. one was off the drivers door cable on the handle end, insulation tape on the cable fixed it. more rattles on the seat belt b-pillar pannels, cardboard and foam fixed that. the storage under the radio was rattling, packed that out and cured it.
re-trimming the origional car trim sounds a good idea, did it in my old h-reg mini and it changed the quality of the looks and build by far. cheap enough to do aswell, as long as you get a good supplier, got my items from a car show.
the carpeting of the glovebox sounds a good idea, got some spare carpet left over so i may try it
p.s. cant fault you on giving a motor a good clean out, do it myself regular to keep the cabin a fresh clean relaxing environment. and the tt seats sound an ace idea
p.s.s can anyone recomend a good trackday or rally experience in the midlands, fancy a thrash

Chr15B, have u looked at the SEAT accessories for the Ibiza? I have the chrome air-vent aurrounds and gear surround. IMHO the vents brighten the inside, even in the dark. its a small mod obviously, but i guess every little bit helps eh?

i know its off topic, but fingers crossed for scotland tomoro!

It's not the looks I mind so much, just the overall quality.

I was on GMTV this morning about half past 7, if anyone was watching? Dell in Glasgow :)
