Legally you need one, as all old cars with PCV used to vent to atmosphere, but that was made illegal and an MOT failure. So you DO need one, if you're not running one then fine. Just thought I'd state. I've always run air oil separators, oil returns and then a catch can, a la touring cars, but I don't think I'm going to go the whole hog on the LCR!

I considered deleting the N249, but like everyone said, VAG did put it there for a reason, and knowning what I know, do you really think they would have spent millions putting them in if they could have made more profit not doing so? And dump valves to inlet is standard on most older turbo cars!

it is there for a reason cold starts emissions purposes , when you start taking off stock exhaust and fitting bigger bore downpipes and catback with 200 cell cats and or no cat at all , its seems a tad stupid to leave the n249 and n112 in place for emissions reasons as you've defeated the whole purpose this topic baffles the **** out of me to be honest cause many that are for keeping the n249 have full turbo backs etc question is why then ? my car runs great your choice keep it if you which but fact is I remain you don't need it fact
