Best place to buy vag com from

Im looking to buy a vag com cable for my leon and Im just wondering the best place to get one from. Will I need to buy the full price version if I want to do anything other than reading fault codes?

i too was looking at this but on ebay, all the vag com leads i have looked at dont seem to be compatable with the CAN system and say they dont work with the leon 1p

This is the one i got last year. Comes with most of the software but i just use the 10.6.0 version and works fine on XP. Keep wifi switched off when using too. Works great for diagnostic but not sure about coding because dont know how to use it with that lol.

Thats all the instructions needed as how i use it and for £20 guys doubt you can go wrong

How come the prices vary so much from £20 upto £200

I have looked at this before and wondered why they are so different.

With the £200.00 version are you getting the better software etc

200 quid is the official Ross tech cable and you get support from them. The 20 quid ones are Chinese copies and you won't get any support from Ross tech.

I've only ever been exposed (all 2 times) to the official Rosstech ones, but are there actually any fully legal alternatives that are cheaper?
I'm guessing getting the 20 quid ones off fleabay are...dubious...

I've just bought the proper one from Gendan, I had an ebay one which worked ok in my mk3 but it doesn't like the new Ibiza. Which was a shame as you can do a lot more with VCDS on the new one.

But I'm pretty much a VAG for life guy so I'm sure I'll get plenty of use out of it.

Haven't been able to do the chirp yet, can't figure it out
