Hi All,

Would have posted this in the general detailing forum but I have never had a car with such a soft, matte dashboard as the Mk4 Ibiza, so its time to ask the experts... The fine weather has inspired me to give the inside a clean up, want to get the interior plastics looking like new again.

I normally use Auto Glym Plastic & Vinyl spray but on the Mk4 it doesn't do alot... what products are you using with good results on the dash/interior plastics?

Thanks!

Simon

I would like to know about this as well. I have just used hot water and fairy liquid in the past which keeps the dash looking 'matt' but doesnt leave the best of finishes (can show up scratches quite badly). Don't like the idea of having a shiny dash so product like 'Dash Shine' are a big no no

I use MER bumper & external vynil cleaning gel - cleans well and leaves a nice finish.

Always used it on my motorbike plastics so i tried it on the car.

Also good for the B pillar trims.

I made the mistake of getting some high gloss vinyl spray (made by AutoSmart? I got a detailing pack from a car show and it included it).

I sprayed the whole dash and my god... I could see sweet f**k all when the sun hit the dash. All I could see was a nice reflection in the windscreen.

A big no, no.

I use some Pledge spray now. It cleans the dash nicely but tends to attract the dust haha.
