Sounds like the Standard Map wins!

Mines now over 3 years old and the insurance is up this month which came in less than £300 allowing a remap. I had decided to go with Revo as the HQ is only 30 mins away but after reading this thread (plus others) I m keeping hold of the money. After taking the car out early yesterday morning for a run its easy to forget just how quick it is given a clear road.

For many more power is always going to appeal, but other members on here have long argued you would be better visiting the handling first and its hard not to agree. The LCR delivers the power but love it as I do, the weight and its handling is its down fall. More power is not going to improve things unless you spend all your time driving up and down dual carriage / motorways.

Well the car originally had a Revo trial map, I then took the car to have the C/Code map, it just wasnt what i expected after all the hype of C/C!

The car felt rough and not that smooth from 1st to 3rd, however 4,5 and 6 gears are like stock with just some more power..so thats not to bad.

Revo trial was fun and better in my opinion than the full C/C map!!

Like faisal said i too have been left in 2nd place against other cars. It feels just so sluggish in 1,2&3 and it has to be worked hard to get going..its been like this from day one!

I dont think they could write over the REVO trial personally!!
No way does it feel like the 275bhp that is C/C

Man i missed out on the REVO discount and so wish i could have that FUN back
As for figures.. no idea and the company boss has even said there is no need for a R/Road and asked me WHY i wanted to do so!! I told him about map, he didnt want to know(sent a copy of my map problems to read), he said no copy HERE!!!!
however the front sales person has been helpful but the company hasn't!!!

Now im thinking of REVO (nearer) but i also studied AMD & APR

hth

Ahhhh ok, thanks foxes. It's good to hear some bad points about maps now and again. I know that if you aren't happy with REVO, you can have a full refund but I wonder if CC would do the same? I want a map but I want the right one, and ok, you pretty much have to buy it to try it but if it's not right, i'd like to have it put back to stock and head over to another tuner.

I know about the REVO trial but I have also read a post that when it reverts back to "stock", they aren't the the OEM values and it in some cases, the car is under performing (i.e. worse than stock).

There is a definite logic to your post. Whats the point in power without control. Its worth remembering also that a set of coilovers will transform the handling of an LCR.

The standard map is woefully short on torque, even a generic stage 1 map will yield massive gains in driveability. The standard car feels quick, the difference between standard and a good stage 1 mapped car is astounding.

Thats correct, REVO reverts to "assumed settings" rather than your original standard map. If you know you're definitely going to get the car mapped, this wouldn't put me off.

Well I am 99% sure it's going to be remapped but if I try REVO and decide that it's not for me, will CC have issues overwriting?

To be honest, this is the 1st post I have read with negatives against CC. The draw for CC is basically its price, REVO is massively expensive and with my local garage wanting to charge for VagCom also, it's tipping it over the £500 mark.

Maps like P-torque and Jabba sound similar to REVO yet cheaper, although they are very far away from me and if anything was to go wrong with the car, I'd never be able to get it back up to them. CC is near to me & also REVO, so your thinking why not just go to CC if it's that much cheaper? Well, there is a niggle at the back of my mind that it won't be as thrilling as REVO, I love turbo kick and I am not sure if CC will provide it?

I have AMD down this way but I'd feel safer with CC or REVO because they aren't just limited to one or two garages.

you could ask the different tuners to give you RR samples, that would at least give you an idea of when the power comes in and how long for.

CC wouldn't have issues over-writing a REVO trial but they wouldn't be able to download the map and store it for you before they put their own map on the car, most tuners keep a copy of your original map.

I think I can say with 99% certainty that if you had a REVO trial and were definitely getting a full map, you wouldn't go anywhere else. It might be slightly more expensive but they have high customer satisfaction, excellent customer service and support is readily available from a number of outlets.

Dont get me wrong the best money you can spend other than uprating the handling is to get your motor mapped. If i hadn't had mine roaded or even been told what figures i should expect i wouldn't have any issues at all. Just knowing im a little bit down on what i should of been makes that great big smile a little shorter thats all. I went with CC due to a friend having a REVO map on his car and it was more punchy but didnt hold through the range, I wanted a map that would and believe me the CC map does.

All this hype about Custom code map...smooth my arse is it....powerfull yea, 4,5 & 6th gears as stock with just more power. My car performed better on stock...and i told them so, guess what, didnt beleive me or care.
This is C/c HQ im talking about to.
I could have got a refund but i waited for the supposed addaption to driving style to release power ..well i must be going real slow then!

That turbo kick you get on standard was good..now its lost with C/Code.
Man a fiat panda can whoop me.lol

Ive never been happy with c/c map & have decided to take it off soon.
Alot of people are happy with c/c & im not dissin them ,but c/c hq are in denial...remember they used to do REVO before & were good at it
